What a rough day we had! This is the Psalm we started our day with in our daily Bible in a year reading. And by providence it is also an Omer devotional Psalm…so we’re sharing it with you. […] -

It seems like a conundrum to me. God wants us to have our lives centered around Him. How do I do that without anybody knowing? Because when I live for Christ, I have a fragrance, sweet to those who are being saved…but an odor of death to those who are perishing. 2 Cor 2:15,16
-
We are also supposed to bear witness, as we are the body of Christ. I do not think it is possible to do so without stepping on a few toes. Of course the Apostles ran into the same situation. After Christ they led a life as martyrs.

How many of you expect Moses to look like Charlton Heston? We just watched The Ten Commandments with him as Moses. Cecil B DeMille is the director. Of course being a Jew he would know the story very well, and I think they did a pretty good job. Go rent it from the library, make some popcorn and see how well it follows the Scripture!

Every day the Father gives us exactly what we need, no more, no less. It is a gift, but we are supposed to “gather” it up. Jesus said man does not live by bread alone, but by the very word of God, Matt 4:4. We have to feed our souls every day just like we feed out bodies. Preparing for the Sabbath is a wonderful way to get His word into us day…[Read more]

@Brian Keep in mind I always call myself a ”newbie” but, I know, In the old days of fire and brimstone, preachers would tell you the trumpet could sound at any time, you better be ready, I guess you are saying that God will wait until each of us is ready?

I am sure learning a lot doing this counting, things that are said over and over seem to seem a little clearer when I am thinking about them in a time line format, His followers couldn’t understand much of what He had been telling them, they were confused by a lot of it the whole time, not until He was dead and came back and explained again did…[Read more]

At times the cares of this world can sometimes seem so heavy that I can hardly breath. During these seasons of hardship, if I will remember that every event in my life will be used by God for an eternally good purpose, and that He has said, ‘I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to…[Read more]

Me and Cynthia started Bible in a year last night. We are typically studying the word separately unless there is a discussion or Bible study. I have to say reading aloud to each other is by far more enriching and obviously more engaging. I am truly blessed that after all the years of denying Him God still has the grace to give me such a wonderful…[Read more]

We are using a chronological plan in e-sword, your Mom reads her NASB, I read along on e-sword in different versions mostly NKJV or ASV but the best part is Max, he is one our Mp3 players,…[Read more]
