Revelation Study: 1 year agoYou’ve confused me, but I think I’m pretty much agreeing that most of Revelation seems to take place in the past. I am gonna read it all the way through again tomorrow. One of the things that confused me the most Revelation 7:4 Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from [...]

Revelation Study: 1 year agoFor instance, people suggest that Obama is the antichrist. It seems to me that not one individual or one specific event is proof the Rapture is coming, but the culmination of the behavior of the human race..ie, wars, genocide, looting, etc.

i struggled with the fact that the Bible never actually says “rapture” and that it is a doctrine not believed by all. Even those that believe you have your Pre, Mid, and Post-tribulation rapture. What I’ve learned is the pattern of God and how he saves the faithful. For example, Lot from Sodom and Gomorrah, Noah and his family from the…[Read more]

got kinda side tracked. I know that wrath is in Revelation, but if I get off subject please stop me. Eschatology, or the study of end time events, is very difficult for me. Rapture, tribulation, bowls, trumpets, 7 yrs of peace vs. 7 yrs of wrath, pre/mid/post rapture, pre/mid/post milleniallism etc etc etc. These are things that I don’t defend…[Read more]

Revelation Study: 1 year agoAlrighty..finished it last not. Not too bad, but then again I am reading the NIV. Should I be reading the KJV so I can be on the same page as everyone else? First thoughts…John may have eaten a bad plant or something. This book is written very differently from others. Also, it seems to me that the events they are projecting have happened in the…[Read more]

Not sure if you’ve already read it through the tree times, but you stimulated me to add the 1st Topic, to give some points to ponder while reading through the 2nd & 3rd times. It does seem as if John was on some sort of “trip”, but he had seen Jesus transfigured, standing with Moses and Elijah. Mat 17 Not to mention all the miracles. I just…[Read more]

No, I think the more Bible versions the better, I believe Lei and Roger are both using the NASB, and I am going back and forth between the KJV and the NKJV, anyway, when somebody quotes something out of a different version, it will send us all on a search of the original texts and to word definition tools.
Almost every time a verse jumps out at…[Read more]

and I will be using the NKJV version for a season. NASB at church and studies cause that’s what we use, but NKJV at home and on here. Cynthia, I have an extra NKJV study bible if you want it, but NIV is good too. Only problem I have with NIV is that it doesn’t capitalize the word ’he’ when speaking about Jesus. I know it’s picky, but it makes it…[Read more]

and I know we said no commentaries until done reading but forgive me for posting this. Referring to what john “experienced”.
Quoting Billy Graham’s “Approaching Hoofbeats” p.22 (which I HIGHLY recommend)
“Suddenly, John head the voice “like a trumpet.” We are dealing with mystery here. I can’t tell you how the visions came or in what…[Read more]

In reply to: Randy posted an update about Deuteronomy 22:5: Deuteronomy 22:5 5 “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the […] ViewI realized after I typed it that it probably was referring to cross dressing. I’m trying to learn what the Bible refers to as modest wear for women (ie, not dressing in anything that causes a man to lust) because I’m readjusting my clothing a bit to set an example for the girls. Also trying to find a video that was on You Tube regarding how a…[Read more]

I am lost. I want to study, I want to learn… but have no idea where to begin? It all seems very overwhelming.

This is so cool. We’ve been talking about doing a study on Revelation and depending on how the study goes we may end up studying the whole Bible! I hope you will join the “Revelation Study” group, the first topic was just posted today.
Also, I have been using a tool for years now when I don’t know where or what I should be reading in the…[Read more]

I believe they are the ones that are God’s elect and have been part of the promise since the covenents with Abraham. I believe they repent and turn back to God at/during tribulation. Discipline ends, promise fulfilled.
so i guess a simplier answer would be ”yes”. lol
I don’t know, I think there is something special about the 144,000, whoever they are.
But
Rev 9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and…[Read more]
all i know is that there are jews that are elect. They were chosen a long time ago. Currently, they have rejected Christ as the Messiah. They end up worshiping the Anti-Christ in the rebuilt temple thinking HE is the messiah. When all is revealed, I believe they recognize their error, repent and spread the gospel during the Tribulation after…[Read more]
