5 “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the LORD your God.
Well, I guess there is no way to take that out of context!
If you allow your wife to wear pants, then she should allow you to wear a skirt.
Cool you found a comment button.
Maybe in the morning I will say more, I’m still recovering from the last attack.
Does that basically mean we are not to wear pants?
I have learned a lot since I posted this, it seemed to me that it was so obvious, that God was referring to cross dressing, but I also posted this comment on facebook, and no one else saw it as obvious, some people got real upset.
Lei reminded me that when we were growing up it was forbidden for girls to wear pants to school, it is crazy how much the world has changed since 1900. On one hand I think the religious mores back then were taking Gods word to extremes like the Pharisees, but then I see how far our society has plunged so fast and I wonder.
On FB my cousin Shelley came up with the best way to look at it I think, she said, (I couldn’t remember so I went and found it)
”I don’t wear my husbands pants, I wear my own. The
ones that are designed for women to wear. My under garments are female,
even my shoes and socks are different from those made for a man. I
fail to see any sin there. ”
From the broo haha I learned that small little phrases in the Bible can be seen a bunch of ways, and I learned to shut up on facebook, almost.
I realized after I typed it that it probably was referring to cross dressing. I’m trying to learn what the Bible refers to as modest wear for women (ie, not dressing in anything that causes a man to lust) because I’m readjusting my clothing a bit to set an example for the girls. Also trying to find a video that was on You Tube regarding how a woman should dress. Pretty interesting to me since our society’s viewpoint on clothing is so far off from what the Bible’s is.
Oh man, sounds like you have some fun years ahead. but I was reminded of this article I saw, in learning how to put these websites together for Lei I am constantly running into brilliant home schooled kids in the tech forums, this article/survey is from a couple of them at their blog, the Teen Christian girls, wanted to make sure their dress was modest so they were asking the Christian boys on their forums what to wear and what not to wear. I never went too deep into the survey results, maybe you could find something in them of some use…
